Courtney Midanek

As managing director of the consulting and advisory firm Kaufman Hall, a Vizient company, Courtney Midanek co-leads more than 30 professionals specializing in healthcare mergers and acquisitions across the continuum of care. Her team’s expertise spans health systems, laboratory, ambulatory surgery centers, physician groups, post-acute and multiple other sub-sectors of the care delivery model.

Midanek advises healthcare services organizations on complex strategic and transaction-related decisions to enable growth, performance and long-term sustainability. She leads sell-side, buy-side and facilitated transactions, as well as valuation engagements, joint venture arrangements, strategic options assessments and workout/distressed transactions. Through rigorous financial analysis, market positioning and structured transaction approaches, she delivers strategic clarity, competitive positioning and measurable value realization for clients.

As a nationally respected advisor with almost 30 years of experience in healthcare mergers and acquisitions, Midanek has guided organizations through evolving market dynamics, portfolio optimization, post-acute strategy development and financial opportunity assessment. She is regularly sought out to advise senior executives and boards on transaction strategy, valuation methodology and partnership structures that support performance across the continuum of care.

Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Midanek held healthcare-focused advisory and investment banking roles, advising clients on strategic partnerships, acquisitions and divestitures. She guided growth strategy and capital alignment initiatives that enhanced enterprise value, strengthened market position and supported transformative organizational performance.

Midanek holds a master of business administration from Northwestern University, with concentrations in finance, management and strategy and earned a bachelor of science in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
