David Levine, MD, FACEP
David Levine MD oversees the direction of Vizient’s data and digital strategy and represents Vizient nationally as a thought leader on topics such as performance improvement, analytics, and AI, interfacing with clinical and operational C- suite leaders in major health systems across the U.S.
Data and analytics are the foundation for Vizient’s software as a service offerings, including benchmarked and risk-adjusted comparative insights across quality, operations, pharmacy, spend management and market. Prior to his CMO role, David managed analytics across the enterprise including data operations, insights, science and governance. He currently serves as an expert for the Vizient council of chief medical and quality officers for academic medical centers.
David joined Vizient in 2010 after serving as medical director of the emergency department at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago for over seven years. He practiced emergency medicine for over 20 years. He is a member of several national expert panels addressing metrics and quality including several CMS Technical Expert Panels.
David earned his medical degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and did his Emergency Medicine Residency at Boston City Hospital where he was chief resident. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan.
